Membership Doesn’t Cost…It Pays!

NTMA members receive numerous benefits in the areas of advice and assistance, advocacy, member discount programs (affinity programs), benchmarking data (statistical data), education and training and most importantly networking on a local and national level.

The Michiana Chapter of the NTMA founded in 1973 with a small group of individuals who shared a common thought…success in the manufacturing industry here in Michiana cannot be achieved unless we work as a team. The primary purpose of the chapter was to promote the precision custom manufacturing industry in the region and to provide members with the services and information that will assist them in being the ‘best in the business. Throughout the years, our regular members continue to be small businesses, with workforces ranging from 2 to 200 employees, mostly family-owned and operated. The enhancement of bringing on associate members brought relationships to members from companies who provide service, equipment or materials to the machining industry.

NETWORKING

What better source of information than from other members who are willing to share their experiences?

INDUSTRY ADVOCACY

From state legislatures to Federal agencies, from local authorities to the White House, the actions of those in government can do a great deal to help—or hinder—one of America’s traditional economic strengths. So we at NTMA fight for fair trade and sensible regulation, and against unfair competition and harmful legislation.  https://www.metalworkingadvocate.org/

DISCOUNT PROGRAMS

You can take advantage of NTMA’s power to leverage group strength to your advantage in shopping for many supplies and services. Our vendors offer generous discounts to NTMA members to lower expenses and become more profitable https://ntma.org/member-benefits/discount-programs/

EDUCATION & TRAINING

Recruiting and training the next generation is the biggest problem our members face. We constantly hear how difficult it is to fill open positions. Not only are the proper skills in short supply, young people who would do well in our industry have been misled into believing brighter futures lie elsewhere. NTMA is combating these issues through education and awareness, combined with a healthy dose of innovation. https://ntma.org/programs/workforce-development/

NATIONAL ROBOTICS LEAGUE

Our flagship program provides a key link between students (middle school, high school, and college), educators and NTMA members. Through robotic competition, students forge partnerships with manufacturers and, as a result, many find bright futures in manufacturing careers. https://gonrl.org/
