MFG Days 2022 Are Here!

Please join the South Bend Regional and Greater Niles chambers as we partner with businesses and educators to shine a spotlight on local manufacturers and manufacturing career opportunities. The digital format created in 2020 extended the reach of this annual event beyond one day – and to more students, educators, parents and community members – with over 16,000 page views to date.

Since the first MFG Day in 2014, 75+ industry and education/training partners and more than 6,000 students and educators from two states, six counties and 19 high schools and adult ed programs have connected through MFG Days in the South Bend Region. MFG Days 2022 will kick off October 7 with the launch of updated and expanded online resources – then, career chats, tours and more will take place throughout the month and extend through the school year. We’re excited to connect even more students to opportunities in our region!

One Voice…for Manufacturing

As US manufacturing continues to navigate the unique challenges and changes brought on by the last year – and a change in administrations – it remains important to have a partner in advocacy.

NTMA helps provide this support by working closely with the team at One Voice: the combined federal government advocacy program representing small-and medium sized business manufacturing in the US. With regulations, policy, and shop safety all constantly evolving, One Voice has a wealth of fantastic resources, developed to help keep your shop informed and prepared for whatever comes next.

The Future of Manufacturing Event

The Indiana Manufacturers Association
is joining
Ivy Tech Community College and Purdue University
to host a virtual statewide meeting
to discuss the Future of Manufacturing
Ivy Tech and Purdue University, in partnership with Harvard, Tuskegee University, UMASS Amherst and University of Michigan, have received a NSF ERC (Engineering Research Center) planning grant also focusing on next gen manufacturing technologies. This is a $100,000 one-year planning grant. This planning grant will prepare us to apply for a 10-year $50 million grant for AI in Manufacturing.

The Future of Manufacturing grant proposes a fundamental re-imagination of AI/ML techniques, establishes an AI-Commons that bridge multiple sites and companies, distributed machine learning, incentivized information sharing and continuous quality improvement and training. Please join us to provide input on Indiana’s manufacturing future and learn how you can be a part of this important initiative!February 10, 2022
